My Story
Hi, I'm Megan. Wife. Mother of four wild children. Medicare eligible Midwife.

I was born and bred in East Gippsland. I grew up riding horses, playing netball, spending summer in the local waterholes, going on picnics and family holidays. It was a busy, competitive and noisy upbringing as one of five kids.

I am a mother to four vibrant, beautiful, full of beans, headstrong children! All were born through continuity of care models with Midwives.

Midwife and Nursing life started for me at a tertiary hospital in 2011 where it was baptism by fire! IT WAS BUSY! Consolidating skills and knowledge, learning a lot and fast! I was exposed to the diversity of pregnancy, birth and postnatal. I witnessed straightforward pregnancy and birth. Conversely, I cared for and supported some of the most complex pregnancies. I specialised in a Maternal and Fetal Medicine unit where I acquired some unique skills. I also spent time in an Obstetric and Gynaecology emergency department which encompassed an array of challenges across the pregnancy spectrum.

After our third child our little family decided on a tree change and headed back to our grass roots in rural Victoria where we grew up. Surrounded by our village and a lot more space!

Since relocating, I have worked in rural hospitals with lower risk pregnancies which has also offered great learning opportunities and challenges in a different way.

Over the years, I have become increasingly passionate about supporting physiological birth and reducing trauma in Women’s experiences of birth. The current National statistics do not represent a healthy maternity system.

This is what motivated my decision to choose the Private Midwifery path. To make a difference on a personal level by offering optimal care, support, collaboration and nurturing for the families of our community.
In my small corner of the globe, I hope to change the face of the birthing season for the women of Gippsland.
